Quick overview of block structure

When you have a lot of blocks on your page you might find yourself wanting a quick overview. Or when you are trying to navigate down a block hierarchy that is tricky to select with your pointer.

Enter the block navigation tool that’s available from the toolbar, or via the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Alt + O (PC) / Control + Option + O (Mac).

The block navigation tool will show you different series of block depending on what you currently have selected.

  • If you are top-level with no block selected or with a block selected that has no child blocks, it will show an outline of all top level blocks on the page.
  • If you have a block with child or parent blocks selected, the current block’s hierarchy will be shown.

This is a useful way of being able to quickly access parent or child blocks that might otherwise be tricky to select with your pointer.
